Industrial Air Compressor Manufacturers in Germany: Companies and Product Ranges

Germany has several industrial air compressor manufacturers, but a German sales office, a brand name and a German factory are not the same thing. This guide selects companies with documented manufacturing in Germany and relevant air-compressor products. It is a representative list, not a performance or market-share ranking. Confirm the country of origin for the exact model you intend to buy.

Industrial Air Compressor Manufacturers in Germany

KAESER KOMPRESSOREN

Headquartered in Coburg, KAESER has German production in Coburg and Gera. Its industrial range includes fluid-injected and oil-free rotary screw compressors, plus air treatment and controls. Check the selected model’s cooling and dryer options rather than assuming every KAESER package has the same scope. Industrial Air Compressors

BOGE

BOGE is based in Bielefeld, its largest production site; its Großenhain facility makes compressor stages. Products include lubricated and oil-free screw and piston compressors, air treatment and customised systems. This example shows why an airend factory, a compressor assembly site and a sales office should be described separately. www.boge.com

ALMiG

ALMiG manufactures compressed-air systems in Köngen and belongs to the Fusheng Group. German manufacturing and ownership are separate facts. Its product range includes screw, piston and oil-free technologies. For any particular series, request its cooling arrangement and installation data instead of inferring them from the brand. ALMiG Kompressoren GmbH

RENNER Kompressoren

RENNER is headquartered in Güglingen and reports another production site in Bautzen. It supplies oil-injected screw, piston and oil-free scroll compressors, with screw systems at the centre of its manufacturing. A small scroll compressor and a larger industrial screw package have different cooling requirements; compare actual model data. RENNER Kompressoren

CompAir

CompAir manufactures industrial compressors and airends in Simmern. The brand belongs to Ingersoll Rand, but its German manufacturing operation is a distinct fact. Its industrial portfolio includes lubricated and oil-free screw machines. Ask what cooler is included in the chosen compressor package before specifying an additional or replacement unit. CompAir

BAUER KOMPRESSOREN

BAUER’s administration is in Munich; its German compressor-system factory is in Geretsried. Its industrial range focuses on medium- and high-pressure air and gas compression. These products belong on a German manufacturer list, but should not be compared as direct substitutes for ordinary factory-air screw compressors. Confirm the medium, pressure stages and cooling method. www.bauer-kompressoren.de

Sauer Compressors

Based in Kiel, Sauer develops medium- and high-pressure reciprocating compressors for air and other gases. Its SAUER line includes industrial air applications. It expands this list’s pressure range without being interchangeable with every plant-air supplier. Match any cooler to the specified air compressor, not the company’s gas-compression portfolio as a whole. Sauer Compressors

Why not count every directory entry? BEKO TECHNOLOGIES focuses on compressed-air treatment. AERZEN emphasizes blowers and process-gas applications; Busch spans vacuum and overpressure systems. These are relevant manufacturers, but their broader product categories do not make them like-for-like suppliers of standard factory-air packages. BEKO TECHNOLOGIES

What Compressor OEMs Should Check Before Sourcing Coolers

For an equipment builder or package integrator, manufacturer research leads to a different purchasing question: what cooling duty must the compressor package meet? Identify interstage air cooling, discharge-air aftercooling and lubricating-oil cooling separately. Determine whether each cooler is integrated, externally mounted or part of a shared circuit. Brand and motor power alone do not define its connections or thermal duty.

For an OEM cooler quotation, provide drawings and the medium, flow, inlet and target outlet temperatures, operating and design pressure, allowable pressure drop, cooling-water or ambient-air conditions, materials and mounting space. If one design will serve several compressor ratings, check each rating’s operating envelope first.

For repeat production, agree on the drawing revision, inspection requirements, initial quantity, estimated annual demand and delivery plan. This creates a specification a manufacturer can review and reproduce. JED’s compressor and blower applications show the cooling duties; its air-cooled and shell-and-tube heat exchangers address different cooling sources.

Discuss an OEM Compressor Cooler Project with JED

JED manufactures custom heat exchangers for compressor OEMs and package integrators. Drawing-based units and project-specific configurations are reviewed against cooling duty, fluids, pressure, materials, connections, installation space and agreed inspection requirements before production. JED supplies coolers; it does not sell or service the compressor brands listed here.

For a new series, revised package or repeat order, send your cooler drawing or equipment datasheet, operating conditions, target quantity and delivery schedule.

Send drawings or OEM cooling requirements to JED.

FAQs

Does an oil-free air compressor still need cooling?

Yes. Oil-free compression still generates heat. Check the model’s air-cooling stages and any separate bearing or lubrication circuit.

Can JED review a cooler without the original drawing?

Yes. Send photos, nameplate details, dimensions, connections and operating data. A sample can help establish fit, but thermal duty and pressure requirements still need confirmation.

Could a third-party cooler affect the compressor warranty?

It may. Ask the compressor manufacturer for written clarification before changing an integrated cooler. Verify operating limits and any required approval for the proposed unit.
